Even though my daughter can't really review it yet or tell me how much she loves it, as a parent, I think that it is a great book. What a cute book. I can't wait until my daughter is old enough to really enjoy them. I love all of Sandra Boynton's books. My daughter is only 7 months old and as far as 'favorites' go for 7 month olds, she loves to sit and will actually listen to us read it. She cries when we take it away.
I like repeating the animal sounds. It really works and she is paying attention. I love this book. I even try to change my voice so it will be interesting for her when I do the animal sounds. LOVE LOVE LOVE THE BOOK. Both baby and I enjoy reading this together. The book gets her attention and I love the simplicity of it.
Perfect from baby age to around age 3. This is a must have for your little one's collection. My daughters both loved it.
It's a quick, fun read with cute illustrations and I would recommend it to anyone with small children. The kids even act it out sometimes. I wasn't too sure about this book, but the minute I started reading it to my boys, they were transfixed. We have the small board book in the car and the large board book at home. It was a good choice and I'm glad I bought it. My five year old has memorized it to read to my 19 month old. My 19 month old has most of it memorized himself.
You'll be reading this book and the others 1,000s of times to your child, you should enjoy them as well.We still do. We bought this and other Boynton books (Blue Hat, Green Hat; Doggies; But Not the Hippopotamus when our daughter was a baby (our son was 4) and to this day, these remain family favorites. When all of the other board books have been given away, Boynton has a treasured place on our shelves. The whimsy, silliness, and sensitivity of the books are a delight to child and adult alike.
